How To Install EcoTec Shed Insulation Kit
This step by step guide will display how to effectively insulate your shed, summerhouse or garden building in the easiest and most cost effective method.
EcoTec Insulation is a thin, flexible dense 4mm bubble membrane. It has a true aluminium foil either side of the bubble material reflecting 95% of radiant energy.
EcoTec Bubble Insulation is extremely simplistic to install. It will help to retain heat in the shed during winter, while reflecting heat away during the summer.
This insulation also acts as a high performing vapour control layer, eliminating condensation!

Method Steps
-
Staple EcoTec Insulation
Start by rolling out EcoTec Insulation to the desired length. Excess material can be cut using the Cutting Knife provided in the kit. Staple EcoTec Insulation directly onto the vertical studs as a flat, continuous layer. Stapling at intervals of 300mm. When stapling to the stud, this will create a cavity between the EcoTec Insulation, and the timber boards. When a cavity is created, extra thermal performance is gained.
-
Overlapping and Taping EcoTec Insulation
EcoTec Insulation should overlap by 50mm, on both horizontal and vertical joints. Ensure all overlaps are fully taped and sealed using Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape provided in the Kit. When EcoTec Insulation is fully taped and sealed, the product will also work as a high performance Vapour Control Layer, eliminating any risk of condensation.
-
Installing Counter Battens
Then install timber battens (min 19mm depth) directly over the EcoTec Insulation, so there is a cavity either side of the material once internally boarded. You can then proceed to install your desired internal boarding over the top of the timber. (Cladding, Plywood etc.)
