Method Steps
-
Ensure floor is clean and free from debris.
Just ensure no dirt, so nothing is trapped beneath and there are no bumps.
-
Lay YBS FloorQuilt on to Solid Floor
You need to start at the wall edge and ensure that the FloorQuilt overlaps the wall edge by a minimum of 100mm. If you need to cut the FloorQuilt product, you can do so easily with either our Multifoil Insulation Scissors or our Cutting Knife (available in the multifoil fitting kit)
-
Butt Joint
When installing the next layers, ensure that the material is butt jointed up to the next layers. Use the Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape to cover the joints where they meet.
-
Install Screed / Underfloor Heating
If you are not installing underfloor heating then you should now move on to the screed, in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. If you are installing underfloor heating, then we advise that you use the gridding outer membrane on the Floor Quilt to assist you with installing the hot water piping.
