How-To Guide
How to Install QuietWalk Underlay
Difficulty: Easy • 4 steps
Materials
QuietWalk Underlay is a certified underlayment, designed to be used alongside SPC-Lux Flooring, although also compatible with laminate, rigid core vinyl (5mm or thicker), LVT (5mm or thicker), and floating engineered wood.
Here is a simple guide to show you how to install QuietWalk on a concrete or timber subfloor.
Prepare the Subfloor

Remove all pre-existing flooring before attempting to install QuietWalk. Ensure the subfloor surface is level, clean, dry, and free from any debris or dust.
Roll Out the Underlay

Roll QuietWalk Underlay over the subfloor with the vapour barrier film (imprinted side) facing up.
The perimeter edges of QuietWalk need to be 12 to 20mm away from the wall — this allows the material to settle without bunching.
Tape and Seal

Seams need to be butted together flush — do not overlap the underlay.
Tape the seams with ThermaSeal Foil Joining Tape.
Install Your Flooring
Install your SPC-Lux flooring, or your chosen flooring, according to the manufacturer's installation instructions.
