How To Insulate Your Hot Tub

This step by step guide explains how to insulate your hot tub using our easy to install EcoPro Hot Tub Insulation Kit.

The kit includes EcoQuilt Expert, a flexible 6 layer multifoil insulation designed to fit neatly behind your existing hot tub panels. Its highly reflective layers help reduce heat loss and retain warmth, meaning less energy is required to maintain your desired water temperature.

Measure Your Hot Tub

ure around the full perimeter of your hot tub to work out the length of insulation required. For a round hot tub, simply measure the circumference.

Also measure the height of the hot tub to make sure the insulation will fit neatly behind the external panels.

A flexible tape measure can make measuring around round or curved hot tubs easier.

Measure and Cut the Insulation

Add approximately 70mm to your perimeter measurement to allow the insulation to overlap when the two ends meet.

Roll out the EcoQuilt Expert, pull it gently taut and cut it to the required length using the Multifoil Insulation Scissors provided.

Remove the Hot Tub Panels

Carefully remove the external side panels from your hot tub using a screwdriver or suitable tool.

Where possible, leave the corner sections in place and only remove the main panels required to access the space behind them.

Switch the hot tub off before removing panels and follow the manufacturer's instructions for accessing the cabinet.

Position the EcoQuilt Expert

Starting at one corner, tuck the EcoQuilt Expert behind the corner section to help hold it securely in position.

Run the insulation around the inside of the hot tub cabinet, tucking it neatly behind the top and bottom edges where possible.

Cut Around Controls and Pipework

Continue fitting the insulation around the hot tub, carefully cutting around any controls, pipework or other areas that need to remain accessible.

Keep the insulation as continuous as possible to help reduce areas where heat can escape.

Do not cover ventilation openings, pumps, electrical components or areas that require access for servicing.

Continue Around the Hot Tub

Continue installing the EcoQuilt Expert around the full perimeter until you reach your starting point.

The additional material allowed when cutting should create a small overlap where the two ends meet.

Tape and Seal

Fully tape the overlapping joint using the ThermaSeal Foil Tape supplied with the kit.

Tape and seal around cut edges and any other gaps where possible, creating a continuous insulation layer around the hot tub.

Refit the Hot Tub Panels

Once the EcoQuilt Expert has been fully installed, taped and sealed, carefully refit all of the external hot tub panels.

Secure the panels back into their original positions and check that all controls, ventilation and service areas remain accessible.
