In this guide, we will show how EcoLoft Non-Itch Insulation is installed between and over loft joists in the quickest and easiest method. This replaces the need for itchy fibrous materials such as Rockwool, which commonly dissipate over time.
EcoLoft Non-Itch is made from 100% recycled materials and is completely non-harmful — no protective clothing or masks need to be worn during installation.
Ecohome-Insulation are the leading UK & European distributor of Multifoil Insulation products. We offer free next working day delivery to the UK Mainland (order before 2pm).
Preparing the Loft Floor and Loft Joists

Remove the existing fibrous insulation and make sure all joists are debris-free, with cabling and pipes sealed. You can also install EcoLoft Non-Itch over the current insulation if required.
The existing fibrous insulation being removed is usually harmful, so PPE must be worn during this process.
Installing EcoLoft Non-Itch

Install EcoLoft Non-Itch between the floor joists. This product comes in 380mm or 570mm widths, depending on your joist centres, and is supplied in 100mm thicknesses.
Additional layers can be laid over the joists if required.
Laying Loft Boards (If Using for Storage Purposes)

If using the loft space for storage, loft boards can be laid over the joists — or, if multiple layers of EcoLoft Non-Itch are installed, you can first install loft stilts.
